Unfortunate news for those of us who have been following this podcast, its been a very entertaining and educational podcast. Unfortunately it ends in three episodes. Here are the podcast details for those who want to hear about it - its at the beginning of the episode.
Self-Hosted: 147: The Problem with Game Streaming

Dammit, that’s one of my favorite podcasts.
Support had been dwindling and ad revenue is nearly non-existent for Linux podcasts, so I totally understand why. Still, too bad. I guess I’ll bump my donation to Late Night Linux since I can’t really find another self-hosted podcast that’s worth listening to.
I discovered Linux Prepper a week ago. On most of the previous episodes he talks about tools and self hosting, just not exclusively. The last episode was an interview with a nextcloud employee. You have to find the rss feed, because I can’t find it in my app using search.
They did mention that Alex will join Linux Unplugged podcast occasionally to talk about self-hosted relevant things, plus they tend to all be talked about their experiences around self-hosted - especially in the bootleg edition.
That’s good to hear. I think self-hosting is one of the strongest use cases for Linux. I am a big self-hoster myself so I am glad to hear he’ll still pop in every now and then and give us the latest news in the space.
I’m general I heard the podcast ecosystem is in a dire state, post covid numbers dropped a lot seemingly.
It’s funny because I used to listen to podcasts way more frequently before covid, but I’ve sorta transitioned to long form videos instead of straight podcasts.
Commute gone down?
I listen a lot because I’m either working where I need ear defenders and so I listen on BT headphones, or I’m in a combine/tractor. I’d be bored AF without podcasts.
That’s a great point, yes, the majority of my podcast listening was on my longer drive before covid then I was wfh for a while but also moved closer to my eventual office.
